Patreon Update Regarding Changes

Hey dudes,

Hope everyone is cool and has had a lovely week?

So a few people have left the Patreon today and, as it turns out, it's due to the new Patreon changes which are coming in soon, changes I only found out about today and have spent my evening reading about.

Secondly, there was no need for Patron to do this. It was fine as it was, and I - like many others who use the service - sought to find a way to incur these costs, but unfortunately as the article says, there's no way to do that.

I 100% understand how this could effect some people, so wanted to throw this out there in case you feel like you can't support me anymore, rather than just hide away and hope for the best. That doesn't seem very cool. Transparency and honesty have always been traits I value, and hopefully that's come across through here in the past. 

There are rumblings this may reversed and I really hope it is, especially with the state of YouTube at the moment. Without wanting to sound all doom and gloom, I wouldn't be able to do the videos, podcasts or any of my content without you guys, so for Patreon to do anything to jeopardise that... well it's just unnecessary. 

I really do want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for their pledges and support, because it is the lifeblood that keeps all this ticking over. I really hope there's a way to keep all this going, but again, if it puts you in a tough position, I understand. 

Finances are hard at the best of times. That's why I'm so grateful for all this to begin with! Makes all that a touch easier.

So sorry to those who do feel like they've been dicked over. I really would like to be able to help, but it's out of my hands.

Either way, another huge thanks for all the support, love and help. You'll always be my favourite people.

UPDATE: Just for some clarity, too: the basics of all this is if you pledge $1, it'll now be about $1.35. So it's nothing too major in terms of numbers, but I still get why it would irk some people. It makes no sense.

If you're a $5 Patron it'll still never be more than $6 – and should be less, I think – but just for some extra understanding of what's happening.
