Yeah Kakashi takes a Quick run back to the Village or sends the Dogs to get orders from the Old Man. An the old man is likely to see this as the perfect training Opportunity for the rookies but also send strength to back them because this could pay off big for the Village. He is either sending an Anbu squad to back the team or both Team Asuma & Kuernai with 3 Jonin and 9 Genin should cover everything an teach the Rookies how high level missions with multiple objectives works an High Level Ninja combat.

He had plenty of time to freak out and adjust when he first got to the world. It is what it is though. I still vote he loot Gato though. Can never have to much money.
