A Spooky Halloween Horror Double Feature!

It's a double feature of horror this month!

First up it's a spooky look at the not-so-spooky (but still occasionally kind of spooky) game about dreams, Hypnagogia: Boundless Dreams. It's an absolutely rockin' exploration game that lets you enter a variety of different dreams, each with their own lo-fi characters, mood, and vibes. I liked this game a ton - I mostly focus on the spooky stuff here because it's Halloween, but really that game has something for pretty much everyone, I think. Then there's the second video where we turn up the spooky heat a little bit: The Mortuary Assistant. This is unambiguously a horror game, with lots of jump scares and demons and things that go bump in the dark. Maybe don't watch this one if you're squeamish or about to go to bed! It's a pretty tight video all things considered: had it been the only thing released this month I probably would have gone off on procedural scares and how they work in different games, from Alien Isolation to Phasmaphobia to Eternal Darkness. In fact, maybe that's a good idea for next Halloween... anyways, it's a thought!
