Prey (Spoilers)

Hey all!

This month I took a look at Prey.  On one hand, I really dig its immersive sim gameplay and thematic goals.  On the other, the end kind of sucks the wind of the rest of the game's sails.  It's a game about identity and reality and how we define ourselves in relationship to the world around us, as well as some metatextual commentary about games and how pretend identities play into those concepts... but it's also sort of only about that in fits and spurts, and never decides whether it's more about identity or metatextuality.  Still, it gives us lots to talk about!

And with this I think we can *finally* put the Summer of 0451 behind us.  It's be a weird few months and I've looked at a *lot* of these games, and I know I didn't cover nearly all of them, but at least we managed to take a look at a few different incarnations of the subgenre.  Hopefully it wasn't a masturbatory exercise, but instead shone some light on how this super specific subgenre manifests in different ways.

Up next: Halloweeny spooky times?  If not that, at the very least I'm hoping to find something *very* different from another immersive sim title.

The guy's name is Calvino? Seems like a pretty direct nod to Italo Calvino, which would be another 0451-ish literary nod.
