Spinner Rack - Grimbor
Added 2025-08-29 08:11:23 +0000 UTCSo, The Chainsman is inspired by an old Legion of Superheroes villain called Grimbor the Chainsman - Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes Vol 1 #240. His goal was to chain up or otherwise bind or subdue an entire team of teenaged superheros by various methods to counteract their superpowers.

Hee. Funny, thing, that is Mike Grell's costume for Cosmic Boy, who has magnetic powers. Metal threads in the costume allow him to hold it up with his powers. That, and they are in the 30th century with various wonder-materials and all.

2025-08-29 13:07:14 +0000 UTCThe last panel reminded me of a video critiquing bad costume designs. The hero with the nonmetallic chains was on the list cuz he's basically wearing just enough material to cover his lower pecs to his groin. Visually appealing but not practical unless you can defy gravity during every fight.
