Chassis and (very nice) wheels!
Added 2022-11-15 07:47:15 +0000 UTCMy friends, here's some initial progress on the Toyota FJ43 technical from AK Interactive. So far it seems like a very nice, well thought-out kit! They give you two wheel options, of course, I went for the more aggressive pattern. You also have the option to steer the front axle in both directions or keep it straight.
So far the only details I added were air valves for the tires, these are simply made from 0.5mm wires, and I drilled out the exhaust pipe. Everything else is out of the box with some subtle texturing on the "heavy" parts.
Also, one of my biggest concerns was keeping all four wheels on the ground. As expected, as soon as I got all the suspension parts glued together, one of the wheels started levitating, so I had to forcefully twist the entire chassis to straighten it up. It won't matter as soon as the car is placed in a scenic base, but still... for that peace in my mind!
I already started assembling the upper body, we'll see how that goes together!
As for the paint scheme, I'd like to paint it blue, just like on the box art. There are just too many options with this type of vehicle!
