My friends, the model is finally reaching its final form. With those few details painted and pre-dusting applied, it's ready for enamel weathering and some snow sprinkling!
Regarding details, I tried a new method for painting the headlight. A very basic, some might say beginner-level, coat of silver, followed by a wash of Ammo Shader Dirt. Once the shader had dried, I sprayed the same product on the top half of the lens, creating a fake shadow effect. Ammo Shaders often dry to a glossy finish when applied in a thick coat and this worked perfectly in this case! What do you think about the result?
As for the lower hull and running gear, I quickly sprayed the tracks in German Grey and some diluted Flat Brown. Then everything that gets muddy received some subtle stippling with AK terrain paste Dark Earth. Pre-dusting was carried out with a diluted mixture of Buff and German Grey for that desaturated earth tone.
Now I need to hit it with dust and mud colored enamels and get it done by the end of the day! Wish me luck!
