My friends, the rust tones are finished and so are the only 3 details on this model - the exhaust pipes and that wooden stool mounted on the access doors.
Exhausts were first painted in Ash Grey from AK, then they received a heavy rust wash followed by chipped remnants of the base color with Ammo Dull Green. Then one more round of rust speckling and they were finished. The wood texture is a new recipe I discovered while painting figures: base with Black Brown and woodgrain with Old Wood and Iraqi Sand. It creates a richer and deeper effect than using these two wooden colors without the black-brown undercoat!
And finally, one VERY important thing: because this is a rather simple model in terms of weathering techniques, what I've done so far isn't enough for an interesting video. I certainly wouldn't be happy with it and I want to provide you with content that I believe is good. This "lack of interesting stuff to show" is due to my rather abrupt house renovations that caused me to be without a working space for 3 days and also other duties that need to be taken care of on a daily basis, so I'm currently not able to paint this model from morning til evening.
As such, I decided to finish weathering this model with earth tones and release it as a full weathering episode, but we'll have to skip a week in terms of uploads. Because of that, those of you who'd normally get an early release this Friday, we'll make a Patreon QnA - we haven't done this in a while! I'll make a separate post where you'll be able to ask questions!
Deal? 😉
