My friends, the model is now ready for weathering. I outlined every bolt and rivet with the Ammo Shader, gave it a coat of flat VMS varnish and sprayed the tracks in a mixture of German Grey and Flat Brown.
It's funny because now it looks just how I imagined the finished model, so a part of me doesn't even want to touch it anymore π€£ But of course, what follows are pin washes, chipping and rust tones, and, of course, some dirt on the running gear and bottom edges of the hull!
The flat coat is especially important on this model. Because it's gonna sit at a pretty odd angle in the diorama, there's a chance it would reflect light directly into the camera, or the viewer's eye. The result would be a washed-out tank with no surface definition, so in this case, a flat surface is the most logical approach as the paint job is going to look exactly the same no matter what angle you choose!
