More Op KURGAN Photography

Way back, when I was still developing Horizon Wars: Zero Dark for the first time, I wrote to GameMat.eu to ask if they would be OK with be featuring their mat designs in the mission briefings I was writing for the game and, on the off-chance, if they could possibly spare one or two to help in the photography.

They responded by sending me six mats, and two complete sets of terrain: one MDF and one pre-painted cold-cast resin. I think it's fair to say that I have felt uncommonly kindly disposed to this Czech compay ever since. However, despite their largesse, their products didn't make much of a showing in a lot of my photography because I wasn't very good at painting the MDF stuff and the resin stuff was a bit too basic to fit in the aesthetic with which I was working.

However, with Operation KURGAN taking shape, I thought it was time to give these products some care and attention and have been spending the last three weeks churning through them with the assistance of my variably-temperamental Badger Patriot airbrush.

In this post, we'll look at some of the photography of the re-painted resin set, which I decided would benefit from not only a new paintjob, but also from the addition of litter and posters. There may be some graffiti still to come, depending on how well-behaved the aforementioned airbrush decides to be.
