Zero Dark: Combat Bows

Some of you may have noticed that I recently painted a new mini. This one:

 In case you're not aware, this is a Ninja from Corvus Belli's Infinity the Game. It's a real classic of miniatures design. But, as I was working on a few Infinity minis, I got to pondering the fact that not only do I personally own a few scifi or modern minis equipped with some sort of bow, but that there are a bunch more out there that I rather like.

Now, I definitely don't approve of professional soldiers using bows in lieu of a proper firearm. However, in the Fallen Earth there's a faction that I've not yet give much design attention to, which is the Survivors: true citizens of the Fallen Earth who lived outside the strict parameters of the City States. Many - albeit far from all - of these lived in the wilderness between the cities, living off the land. And with very little access to modern weaponry, it should be no surprise that they favoured some traditional weapons, including bows.

In addition to that, not everyone fighting to control the Fallen Earth is as principled as I am, and there are plenty of deadly assassins and other ne'er-do-wells happy to cock a snook at the Laws of Armed Conflict - or at least, they would cock such a snook if they even knew such things existed. Which they don't, on account of how an asteroid hit the planet and the whole structure of society was either destroyed or vanished.

So, all-in-all, I feel like bows have a place.

A hero may be equipped with a combat bow as a weapon upgrade. This may be a crossbow, longbow, compound bow or any other such weapon. They are assumed to have enough arrows to comfortably last the length of a mission.

Combat bows are Silent and Lethal. However, if you use a Shoot action with a bow and fail to hit your target, the target does not have to take a stress test.

A combat bow cannot fire Less Lethal Munitions (LLM).
