Midnight Dark - Experimental Rules #001 - Electronic Warfare
Added 2024-02-03 18:17:27 +0000 UTCThese are very rough and entirely un-tested. Have at.
Electronic Warfare Suites (EWS) can be acquired by an element in one of three ways:
- Any recon element can be made into an EW element for 4 points, gaining the EWS upgrade but as a Trait.
- Any command element can take the Signalmaster specialism for 5 points, which gives the element the EWS upgrade as a Trait. In addition, any element given an order by the Signalmaster gains ECM to the end of the turn.
- Any element can take EWS as a Weapon upgrade (see below).
Note that having EWS as a Trait means that the element can still take a Weapon upgrade.
EWS - Weapon Upgrade (4 points):
- Shoot at targets as normal, but ignore cover (except total cover) and A. Targets do not get to take a cD test against EWS attacks.
- Targets suffer fatigue as normal but no damage, unless they have the synthetic upgrade.
- For each successful Shoot action, regardless of the amount of fatigue or damage caused, remove one order token if the element has any.
- For each Lucky 12, if an order is removed, add it to the enemy’s command fatigue at the end of the turn.
ECM - Armour OR Utility Upgrade (1 point):
- Elements with ECM may make cD tests against EWS attacks.
EWOp - Hero Upgrade (1 point):
- Element must have the EWS upgrade or trait.
- On a successful EWS attack on a synthetic element, make a D(v) test where v is 10+target’s D. If the test achieves at least one success, the synthetic target switches sides and is now part of the active player’s battle group.
