My Operation Kurgan Shopping List
Added 2024-01-28 11:36:49 +0000 UTCFor the photography for Operation Kurgan, I'm building a bit of a shopping list for minis that I don't own but which seem like they'll be relevant. I have sources for some of these, of course, but I'd love to hear suggestions from patrons for anything you think fits the bill:
- Spooks
All of our operators are, to some extent, intelligence assets, but the Spook is a little different. They are non-military, separate from their peers. They look and act closer to a civilian and want to be able to blend in with the locals the moment things go totally Pete Tong.
Good sources I know of include Spectre and their various CIA types, and Papsikels for a more cyberpunk look.
- Journalists
As some of you are already aware, EmJays and the new hero specialism, XJays, feature heavily in Operation Kurgan. I already have a couple of reasonable modern or scifi journalists in my collection, and I'm aware of EM4 who do some quite old-school-looking journalist types. But who else is out there doing interfering civilians?
- Civilians
Operation Kurgan will introduce rules for civpops of various sorts - VIPs, Faces and Locals being the Boss/Elite/Grunt equivalents - as well as crowds (representing more amorphous groups that burst into hostile locals when alarmed). I'm going to need quite a lot of these. Again, Pasikels has a reasonable selection of civilian types, but where else can I go for them? They need to be definitively not armed and ideally have some kind of purpose to them. All suggestions welcome.
I'm open to 3d printed minis, but only if I can buy them in physical form. I'm not at the point of printing at home, so Unit 9 is out except for minis they still have for sale at hintthegame.com.
Comments
I do like their stuff, but last I heard they'd stopped manufacturing and had gone to 100% digital. I grabbed a few of their pieces in a sale when they were clearing stock a few years back.
