TONKS & Salute

Work on HWMD continues. But if you're itchy for a new gaming experience, you might to check out Tonks, by Apocrypha_Now (who might, possibly, also be a patron).

Development of Tonks was at least partly supported and inspired by my videos about miniatures game design on YouTube, and is a great example of the kind of game design I enjoy. It doesn't take its theme too seriously, but the design is crisp and clear and, importantly, focused on delivering a very specific kind of tabletop experience.

Tonks is about helping players put whatever handy tanks they have available on the tabletop and would be particularly well suited to any "cute", small tank designs you might have picked up from games like Rivet Wars or some Patreon somewhere. It favours a mix-and-match approach to design and aesthetic and I'm keen to get it on the tabletop.

The author gave me permission to share the rules here, with you guys and - as they might or might not be a patron - you can be relatively confident that they will see any feedback you have to offer if you stick it here.

Also, in a sudden rush of blood to the head, I was persuaded to buy bus tickets to London and to this year's Salute event at ExCeL, which is this Saturday.

I'll just be a punter and my main objective is to play as many participation and demo games as I possibly can. If anyone else will be there and fancies meeting up for lunch or whatever, let me know!
