So, anyway, I'm trying out a new look in this video. It took bloody ages, but I think it will actually be quicker now I've made most of the animation slides that I need.  I hope people like not having to see my real face any more.

I was keen to find a way to make my videos look and feel more professional, whilst also reducing the amount of time they take to make. I'm not sure I 100% succeeded, given that scripting, recording, animating and checking this took the best part of three (long) working days, but I'm hopeful that, in future, the animation and recording will be a lot quicker now that I know what I'm doing.

Going back to scripted episodes helps me keep them shorter and to the point, which YouTube's algorithm likes. Being able to record without worrying about what I look like (not that I ever worried a lot about what I look like) should make it easier and quicker to get recordings completed. I've also moved to recording with Audacity and then importing the audio into Movavi, where I then do the animation, which avoids some of the issues I've had with Movavi's native recording tool.

I'm pretty pleased with how the animation looks and learned a lot about how to make it go faster in the course of the last 48 hours. Sadly, I'm not flush enough to be able to automatically animate based on tone and volume etc, which apparently is technically possible. I'm sure I'll learn more as I go along.

I really hope you like the new look. I have some thoughts to improve and add to it over time. Bernard will get to appear on camera eventually! Let me know in the comments what you think she looks like.

Also, you guys get early access again. Up for public consumption on Monday.

I like the new style, and the return to shorter episodes is much better for me. I do wonder if the move to 3D printing is the right decision for PP, but for the wrong reason and at the wrong time...
