Feed the Trolls at Your Own Risk
Added 2021-10-13 16:01:28 +0000 UTCSome of you have noticed that, in the comments below my recent video episode of the podcast about Dust Games there are some excitable fellows who think I was criticizing Paolo for a sexist representation of women in his miniatures (and although I absolutely would have criticized that, what I was actually saying was that the representation of women may have been a contribution to the business's failure).
Whether they are right or wrong to take issue with my comments is neither here nor there. Frankly, a bit of controversy is good for my algorithm and the comments, likes and - indeed - dislikes actively help my visibility so it's all good.
I just wanted to emphasize that people who feel compelled to comment on YouTube to defend their right to hypersexualized Nazi slut-soldiers are toxic-brained trolls who do not require feeding. I used to engage with these types way back when I was a naïve noob in the world of digital media. Now I've learned that it's not worth it and only leads to me feeling worse about myself.
If you want to engage with them, I'm not going to stop you (comments are good for the algorithm!), but I just wanted to let you know that I will absolutely not wade into the argument. Just remember that they watched the video. They are, at the end of the day, actually helping make my opinions and thoughts more visible than if they just hit the "dislike" button and walked away.
