Mission of the Month - July - Catch the Pigeon

Edit - Completely forgot to actually attach the mission to this post and only Sascha, one of the new patrons, noticed! Shame on me. Shame on you! XD

Edit 2 - Shame on me! I managed to upload a version of this mission with the Ending the Mission conditions and notes from June's mission. Now fixed. I've double-checked that August's seems fine. Fingers crossed!

This is definitely one of those missions that, I suspect, to the right heroes, the right dice rolls or, perhaps, the right player could be a piece of cake.

The spy the team was trying to catch in the previous mission has been smoked out, but made their escape and the team must track them down and bring them in - alive!

But the spy is no slouch: a Boss statline that activates as a Grunt is a challenging prospect, with the only thing in the team's favour being that the spy really wants to get away from them.

The game mechanics really work to bring this mission to life. As long as the heroes keep another grunt between them and the infiltrator, the infiltrator won't activate very often, instead just moving slowly towards their exit point. But as soon as the heroes make their break to try to catch the infiltrator, they will face a hail of deadly incoming fire.

So you have to decide: will you use non-lethal munitions (from last month's mission) to bring the infiltrator down, then capture the and head for the exit? Or try to talk sense into the infiltrator and bring them around to your side?

In the former case, you then have to drag them, impeding your progress as the Red Force closes in. Not too tricky, but they may not be so forthcoming once they've been interrogated.

In the latter case, they turns out to be a pretty decent ally, with 16 stat points. But they have to stay close to the hero who persuaded them, otherwise they will count as dead (assume that they have "rabbited" into the crowds at the first opportunity). Get them out safe and not only will you get the best possible intelligence but, who knows? Maybe they'll turn out to be more useful than you expect...

Using a Spook to manipulate the Control Deck is a great way to get close to the infiltrator without getting shot, so this July's Rule of the Month will take a look at some alternative options for Spooks.
