I've been eyeing up these minis for quite a while. The near future sci-fi aesthetics with explicit nods towards the less anime aspects of Infinity the Game were right up my street. But the photos on their website put me off pulling the trigger on what would have been - with postage included - a pricey purchase.
But I spotted a painted example on Instagram that looked a lot better than the images on their site, and I reached out to the artist who assured me that they were purchased from ESS, not printed at home. So I went back to ESS and went in on a purchase.
Suffice to say that I'm pretty impressed.
Not unreservedly so. I'd still rather see them in resin or white metal and made as multi-part minis, with separate arms and weapons. They have done some stuff with the 3D medium which is impressive but... unnecessary (I really don't need visible carabiner loops). And a sculpt geared towards casting would probably produce a more satisfying painting experience.
That said: no regrets, and you'll see these minis feature in a future Zero Dark publication (or two).
