Mission of the Month - June - Honey Trap

Honey Trap may be, conceptually, the most complex missions I've yet written. But as more of my correspondents are complaining that missions aren't challenging enough than are complaining that they're too challenging, I feel comfortable with this.

In this mission, the team is trying to set a trap for a spy in their own ranks and, therefore, they are infiltrating their own facility to steal classified information in the belief that the spy won't be able to resist helping themselves to it. Consequently, the team is expected to damage their own people as little as possible.

In return, much of the Red Force won't actually shoot back at them, not being soldiers of any sort. But they will raise the alarm - not only in the immediate vicinity but, if they get to an alarm point, in the facility as a whole. This, needless to say, would be A Bad Thing as far as the mission goes. The team would end up captured. Their superiors would be embarrassed. And everyone would have to hurriedly try to persuade the locals that they were the subject of a penetration testing exercise.

Anyway, the long and the short of it is that you'll want to make use of non-lethal munitions and probably last month's "Capture" rule as well.

The rules for non-lethal munitions are in the attachment or you can find them in this month's Rule of the Month post, available for Defence Mechs and Heavy Elites.

I was planning to shift to a new Infinite Dark mission next month but, instead, we're going to do one more month for Zero Dark and see if we can't drum up interest enough to get a new mission each month for both of them!
