Zero Dark 2021 Compendium Competition?

I'm going to try a thing.  I mentioned this idea before, but now I'm fleshing it out somewhat.

The idea is to try to have an annual compendium of fan-created material for Horizon Wars: Zero Dark.  Each compendium will have a theme of some sort and submitted material has to have an at-least-loose connection to the theme.  Expanding on the original idea, my thoughts are to have four categories of submission:

1. Articles

This is the main one, with 10-20 slots, depending on quality of submissions.  These may be anything: alternate rules, new scenarios, new complications tables... anything, as long as it has a tangential connection to the theme.  Max word count ~2500.  I want to do minimal editing, so articles will be judged on spelling, grammar and compliance with the format guidelines as well as on their content.  Authors agree that submission is a surrender of all rights and that POL can use and amend it without notice or consent.

2. Miniatures & Profiles

Photos of heroes, allies, Bosses or Nemeses with backstories and profiles. ~250 words.  Submissions will be judged on both the quality of the painting, the quality of the photography and the accompanying narrative.

3. Artwork

Art inspired by the Zero Dark setting of the Fallen Earth and its various factions and characters.  Unlike the articles, all art submissions will remain the property of the artist, but permission is given, by submission, for POL to use it in the Compendium without fee.  Future and/or additional use of submitted art will be subject to a negotiated fee.

4. Fiction

Short pieces of fiction based in the Zero Dark setting of the Fallen Earth and/or the colonies of Mars and Venus.  Subject to the same restrictions and permissions as the articles, but with a max word count of ~1000 words.

PATRON INVOLVEMENT

I'd like patrons to assist by:

a. Suggesting and then voting on themes.

b. Making submissions! (Patrons will get advance notice of the theme, so you get more time to work on submissions)

c. Voting on (some) submissions.  You'll get a say on the art and miniatures categories.  Not sure how, exactly, but we'll come up with something.

PRIZES

Winners get full name credit, plus a physical prize of some sort (probably minis), plus a free hard and PDF copy of the compendium.  Deadline would be late August and I'd be looking to publish in November.

Thoughts?

Comments

Or the ole abandon space station / spaceship that needs power restored.

Seems like the visibility rules are crying out to be used in an underground mass transit enviroment - Bakerloo line anyone?
