Space Mechs!
Added 2021-01-06 09:01:00 +0000 UTCI thought you guys would like this. I'm still playing with the exact rules, but I think I've found a way to include mechs in the CL1 game and make them interesting.
Basically, I was working on the rules for docking and boarding actions etc, and was just writing how CL1 vessels could do this, when I had a picture of a mech punching an X-Wing in my head.
So now mechs are fighters that can "dock with" (grab hold of) enemy vessels and "shoot" (punch) them. You can even upgrade your mech to being a marine, so it can punch enemies even harder in the face!
Now I just need to decide which range of minis to convert to be space mechs... I'm thinking Kids Logic, but maybe Heavy Gear. Or perhaps I'll just revert to my old favourites and use EM4 plastics...

Jovian Chronicles Lightning Strike (2nd Ed) had the difference between mechs and fighters: fighters needed to move forward (as regular ships), mechs could move in any direction (but usually less than fighters)
