Precinct Omega Weekly Miniatures News #18 - AK Interactive & Condemnation

CONTENT WARNING - This is one of those episodes that needs a content warning.  There is reference to war crimes, genocide and other nastiness.  And a little strong language.

I was all set up for a nice episode about miniatures manufacturing and how I was expecting to see things shift over the next few years.  And then AK Interactive and their book, Condemnation, happened.

On the plus side, it was genuinely nice to hear from more than one patron - and non-patron listeners - who wanted me to cover this and hear my take on the issue.

If there's a topic in miniatures wargames that you'd like to me to cover, do let me know.  I try to make sure that these issues are covered when there is at least an oblique connection to the latest news.

BTW, patrons, I also upload the podcast to Podbean.  So if you are a Podbean user, you can download the podcast there and leave it a 5* review.  I'm not really doing this to build a massive audience.  It's a niche topic within a niche topic.  But it wouldn't hurt to boost the listening figures a little.

"Jake and I decided beforehand that we were going to make a monstrous failure. It was intentionally unmagnificent and unrewarding. We used the most pathetic way of representing the thing that has most exorcised western civilisation... We’ve got better at something we never wanted to do, something we despise doing." Compare and contrast.

Good episode as ever. The point that one **could** make such dioramas as art made me think of the Chapman Brother's art; https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2015/jun/16/jake-and-dinos-chapman-how-we-made-hell

Recently bought a couple AK interactive paints and a brush because of colour scheme I saw on YouTube, guess I won't be doing that again. As soon as you try to plug how to guides and products in something like that you've got way over that moral line. I've read a couple things on reddit (not sure if you touched upon it and I missed it) that apparently there was suppose to be models to buy that go along with this.... Obviously scrubbed from the website. I just can fathom who thought this was a great idea... but hey 'some' proceeds go to charity so yeah?
