Skrapyard: Devil's Reach

This came up on my dash, the other day, when Defence Mech Stefan posted a pic of his original print copy of Skrapyard and a bit of chat followed as to what, exactly, it was.

For you guys who've not heard of it, Skrapyard was the painful learning experience of my first self-published tabletop miniatures wargame.  It is the evidence that a good idea isn't enough and that success in a market relies on more than just a decent product.

I learned a huge amount from this failure, about the process of design, about the market, about the process of publishing and, most importantly, about myself.  But - and this is important - it's still a good game!  If you like low fantasy, like the Witcher or A Song of Ice and Fire, then you'll probably really enjoy Skrapyard.  It's miniatures agnostic and themed to support minis from medieval up to late Napoleonic.

If you've noticed the "grimdark historical" project called Turnip 28, you might find that this is a really good fit to what they're doing.

Anyway, this is a whole free game for my patrons to download and check out for themselves.  At some point, I will go back to this and re-write it - not to change the rules (which I happen to think are near as dammit pretty perfect) but just to lay it out in a style that more fits Precinct Omega in 2020 and to revisit some of the fluff as well as to scale back my ambition a bit!
