Precinct Omega Weekly Miniatures News #15 - Final Whistle Blown for Guild Ball
Added 2020-08-14 17:00:06 +0000 UTCSteamforged Games has killed Guild Ball as a product, pretty much effective immediately.
This is a story positively packed with industry significance and I couldn't possibly cover it all a half-hour slot, although I do my best.

I've been catching up on a backlog of podcasts this week. I really enjoyed this one, particular the discussion of how miniatures games suffer from "bloat" and how different companies deal with it. Initially I thought it was a miniature specific problem, companies simply can't keep adding new models and diluting their product range. But new models means more sales. But then I considered rules bloat caused by multiple supplements and the problems of consolidation to create new editions. New editions can appeal to new players as it lowers the buy in cost, but old players may feel they are paying twice for the same thing. There's even parallel's in multiplayer online gaming, with DLC and new versions of games etc.

I can only think of one other podcast that does this. Couple of questions- interested in more on reference to you learning a lesson from bitter personal experience alluded too. Also the workings for the 97% stat you’ve cited. Thanks again:)
