Weekly Miniatures News Podcast #11 - De-Fund TMP?
Added 2020-07-10 11:00:02 +0000 UTCThere was some excitement recently over a falling-out between venerable miniatures wargaming forum, The Miniatures Page, and respected historical game design partnership, Too Fat Lardies.
You know this stuff always gets my little grey cells pumping, so I thought I weigh in some factual, legal and philosophical analysis. But it's not just theoretical. This is a question with some significant import in how Precinct Omega will do business in the future.

I'm a member at Frothers but I post there rarely. It scares me. ;)

2020-07-14 19:18:41 +0000 UTCI am a member of Frothers, and have seen extensive evidence that TMP 'moderation' is very much slanted towards putting Bill and his right-wing cronies in a much better light than they deserve. A recent thread on the Covid Pandemic saw a stream of misinformation, bias, political opinion and full-on tin foil hattery shouting down attempts at reasoned and scientifically supported arguements - moderation, absolutely none. In summary, I think the site stinks, so I applaude anyone who declines to patronise the site and/or owner. A business actively encouraging a certain stance is fine, but requires the understanding that some customers may take an alternative viewpoint and the risk of ending up in the court of public opinion with no right of reply. The recent JK Rowling/Transgender storm is a case in point. I would much rather support a venture that is clear and transparent and is willing to publicise thier ethics/morals/politics; I can either agree and feel a warm sense of solidarity, or I can recoil in shock and ensure I no longer support a closet whatever.

I found it because of a post on reddit from I am assuming you (I don't honestly remember the handle). I do believe selling on the most platforms possible, but if you can make more money selling it yourself and stick to your beliefs that is a win-win.
