The End of the Monthly Mini Draw... :(
Added 2020-04-30 17:01:00 +0000 UTCSo it turns out that Patreon doesn't like the Monthly Mini Draw. The word "r*ffle" gets them excited (the * is because, if I use the word in a post, they get really excited) because it pulls them into conflict with laws and stuff around the world. And although raffles of this sort are completely fine in the UK for charitable purposes, it's kind of, um, illegal for commercial purposes.
So the Monthly Mini Draw for May will the last one. But I'm going to bring in something completely new and different whilst being almost exactly the same that is completely fair and legal and stuff.
It's going to be based on patrons' lifetime contribution to the campaign, which means that it will include all my patrons from $2 upwards and will be based on the following waypoints:
- WP1 - At $20, I will send you a brand new random mini of my choice.
- WP2 - At $50, I will send you a mini of your choice (costing $10 or less) which I will paint to a high standard.
- WP3 - At $200, I will send you a mini of your choice (costing $50 or less) which I will paint to a high standard.
- WP4 - At $500, we will have a private one-to-one to design an X Team, Horizon Wars battlegroup of fp12 or less or Infinite Dark fleet (~6 vessels) of your choice. I will procure these miniatures and paint them for you to the same high standard.
- WP5 - At $1000, I will arrange a bust portrait of you as a mech pilot, fleet admiral or operator from Zero Dark artist David Sondered (subject to David's availability - I have back-up artists).
- ERV - After the $1000 point, we hit the Emergency Rendezvous Point and you go back to Waypoint 1.
Minis need to be relevant to a Precinct Omega game, which currently means Horizon Wars, Zero Dark or Infinite Dark, but as the range grows your options will expand accordingly.
When it comes to WP1, you are very welcome to express a preference for a particular scale or game system. I will do my best to meet your preference, but random is random.
I will get in touch, each month, to notify people of their waypoints. Any waypoints you've already hit in June will come live unless you've already won a Monthly Mini Draw of appropriate level. In which case, you already got your prize.
You don't have to take a reward. At any stage, you can decline a reward and I will make a donation to Orchid, the men's cancer charity, on your behalf for an appropriate value.
At WP4 and WP5, if you have an idea for an alternate reward (like meeting up with me for an afternoon of gaming, for example) and it's at all feasible, we can make that happen instead, but I reserve the right to decline and provide the waypoint reward as shown.
Obviously, for some of the rewards I will need a postal address for you. I don't keep these on file for data protection reasons, so each time you earn a reward, I'll need your shipping details again.
If you cancel your backing, any rewards earned will still be given, but I won't be able to contact you so the onus will be on you to get in touch with me for shipping details etc.

Are $1 tiers a thing that annoys them?
