Anyway, as the last effort I made to do this was a bust, I gave it another go with more primitive technology and - after a long, long wait for processing - it seems OK.
Hope this all makes sense.

Cheers, Noah. And I appreciate the notes you passed on in an email, too (you can do that, folx). I suppose for the avoidance of being sued I should emphasize that, although ZD: Millennium is defiantly grimdark in its setting, it is, technically, still part of the HW universe and is categorically not ZD 40k. For example, female Star Marines are *definitely* a thing. ;)

ZD Millennium: whoa, wait, what? ZD 40k is a thing? I *really* need to go back through the Patreon, apparently. Love 40k, don't love the rules, so I'm interested. Role of the player in ID: I lean toward Gav's interpretation, but I also get the abstraction level you're talking about. I'm not a fan of power allocation, as it seems to be a fiddly ship-specific function that you wouldn't be handling. But that comes from spending way too much time for very little reward/action in SFB, and a lean towards the more 'roleplay' style. I liked BFGs command/order dice, as they represented all of the fiddly actions on a specific ship in one decision. Hope this helps!
