The final beta version of the Zero Dark rules is here. There have been a number of amendments thanks to feedback and suggestions from patrons, and a few tweaks to make sure that rules were as clear as I felt they could be. I can't entirely rule out further last-minute changes but we're nearly at the finish line.
I should have David's finished cover art by the end of the week and I am furiously painting up some new minis and some new terrain to make sure the photography is as varied and interesting as I can make it. If you have suggestions for things you'd like to see in the photos, do let me know and I'll do what I can to make it happen.
This beta is, of course, free for all my patrons. We are still on track for publication on 29th March so far. However, I have a Plan B in the event of a problem. If I get back the test printing from WGV and it's just not right for some reason, then this beta version will be released as a paid-for PDF on 29th March. Anyone who buys that PDF will then get access to the finished version of the rules (in PDF form) automatically once they are finished and published. Obviously, the POD version will have to wait.
I believe the worst-case scenario, right now, is full publication by the end of April and can't foresee any likely circumstances that would obstruct that from happening, and end of March remains Plan A.
In my next update, we'll look in more detail at my plans beyond the release and I'll welcome your suggestions and opinions on where to focus my time and effort. One thing that will definitely be happening, however, at or shortly before publication is a printer-friendly version that will be exclusively for patrons.
