Super-Secret $5 Meeting - Lifetime Contribution Awards
Added 2020-02-03 09:01:00 +0000 UTCSo, I'd like to start introducing a lifetime contribution award for patrons that back the project for multiple months in a row.
Obviously, a free print and PDF copy of the finished book will be the first thing on the list, and I'm thinking that will go to anyone with a lifetime contribution of $50+.
I've commissioned cover art from David Sondered and I was thinking I might produce a high-quality poster of the artwork, signed by David and me, for patrons who hit the $100 lifetime level.
I also thought there'd be some sort of "automatic win" button for a random mini and a painted mini for lifetime contributions. The former would be quite a low bar (maybe $30), but the latter would be a bit higher, like $150.
I suppose the other thing I could include is the hero cards. The basic business cards will go out when we hit 30 patrons (nearly there!), but once the book is released, assuming it does decent sales, I'll be looking to commission David to help me design some playing cards for the game. I plan to do a Kickstarter for this, because its a discreet product, I should already have the capital to get it moving, and I have plans for a top backer tier to have backers immortalized as one of eighteen "faces" in the deck: twelve face cards, four aces and two jokers.
What do you think? Anything else I could offer?

Whether asking you guys is a good idea or not is a big question. I'm working on the assumption that people who were most invested in the project would be most interested in the wider project - and some of you clearly are, so it seems to be paying off so far.

I've already committed to giving $5 a month without those incentives, I saw my money going to help you create the Zero Dark rules, blog posts, videos etc. However, I do think that extra incentives could bring more patrons onboard, as long as you need to balance the money it would bring in Vs the cost of the items you should be good. A free copy of the book at $50 may not work well for a new patron if they don't hit $50 when the book is released. There's a chance they will buy a copy on release and then get a free copy months later. How about priority shipping when the book comes out? I don't mean 24 courier, just that you will mail any books ordered by Patrons before non-patrons.
