Udated Beta is incoming
Added 2019-11-04 21:01:00 +0000 UTCI'm just putting the final touches to the current beta document. You should be able to get your hands on it in the next couple of weeks.
Initially, it won't be very printer friendly, because I want to show you the proposed page formatting and layout for the final, print verion. But I will create a printer-friendly version, too.
What's changed?
Oh, wow. See, this is a tricky one to answer because it's both "lots" and "not much". It's "lots" because I've made a lot of changes to the manuscript. But it's also "not much" because very little fundamentally has changed.
The main mechanical changes have been to Red Force actions, which have become a little more dynamic. The vast majority of the other changes have been tweaks to the rules to make them more consistent, more comprehensible or more compact.
I sincerely believe that, for the most part, this next version you're going to see will essentially be the final one. Any changes to the manuscript that follow will be in response to your feedback to fix anything that isn't clear, deal with typos and perhaps re-jig the layout here and there.
This means that, before Christmas, I'm going to get to start doing more of the fun stuff: creating short videos to explain parts of the rules, writing battle reports, painting miniatures and hopefully trying to get some wider interest in the project before publication, because I really, really want to get an artist on board and that means having the money to pay for it.
Ideally, I'll see my patrons grow to the point that I can afford to pay the artist out of Patreon funding. But, if not, I may have to go to Kickstarter. It's not a route I'd like to go down, not least because the whole "stretchgoal" shenanigans just annoys me, but needs must...
With that in mind, then, have you guys got any suggestions on where, how or to whom I should be promoting Zero Dark? Are there forums where I should be shouting more about this? Facebook groups that would like to hear about it? Clubs, events or communities where I should be pushing this game harder? The whole point of having patrons is to hear what your best supporters think about stuff, so lay it on me, my friends.

If you message me or email me I can see what FB groups look best to target. You also should look at Lead Adventure Forum and some industry news sites.

2019-11-05 04:22:40 +0000 UTCI'm a big fan of interviews with Youtubers like Dan Adam from Paint all the Minis and Chilling Wargamers. I'll definitely make a batrep when the rules are ready to go, but I am just a tiny little channel. I do love Ash's batreps from Guerrilla Miniatures Games, it got me into Horizon Wars.
