Hey, so this is something that I've missed doing: TRADITIONAL INKING!
Yeah, so I decided early on when this was on the chopping block that I wanted to not use my graphics tablet for this - at least for the first parts of it. I have an entire drawer filled with pens that I barely use anymore because a vast majority of my work is done digitally. I actively missed it, so I brought it in for this one. It just feels like home.
After that, it was pretty much business as usual. I set the pen to binary when I scanned it in (because I think my work ends up looking better that way when I touch it up), made everything transparent, and then knocked out the rest of it. I still am not confident enough in my background work to actually produce anything worth paying attention to, though. That's a consistent issue that I'm actively working to fix as I go through my grinding and get taught by people who do this sort of thing professionally.
Also, I've never seen a single episode of Rise of the TMNT. I hear it's good. I like the animation that I've seen of it. Black April kind of caught me off guard, but it seems like she changes with every incarnation of the series in some capacity. I'll have to watch a couple of episodes at some point, especially considering that I'm not really doing that much else during this lock down pandemic.
Man, I just really want to draw more traditional work. I had a lot more fun hunched over my art desk than I've had hunched over my computer desk. You neglect something long enough and you end up missing it more than you thought you would.
