Ahh...this stuff is sweet herpetological music to my ears. I listen to frog calls 3-4 nights a week and upload my findings to Frogwatch https://frogwatch.fieldscope.org/. But I'm in Connecticut, where we have only 9 species and it's pretty easy to identify the 4-5 that are active at this time of year. I have no idea what these NC calls are, except for the common Green Frog that chimes in with a solitary twang every now and then. I just looked up NC frogs and there are apparently 28 species in your state! This wonderful webpage provides the calls of all them: https://herpsofnc.org/frogs-and-toads/. Based on this, my best guess is that we're hearing a chorus of Green TREE Frogs. Some NC frogs not heard in this recording but worth checking out are the Barking Tree Frog https://herpsofnc.org/barking-treefrog/ and the Carolina Gopher Frog https://herpsofnc.org/carolina-gopher-frog/. Keep the frogs coming 🐸
