A couple of notes which might help you understand the album better: in Lady Lady she’s not talking about a lover, but rather Mother Nature. It’s sort of a note on growth, womanhood, etc. And in Close Up, the ‘chasing rabbits’ is a reference to Alice in Wonderland when she chases the white rabbit down the rabbit hole - so I suppose is a metaphor for chasing something foolish or giving in to curiosity.

I have such hope in some men, but I also will always choose myself and it seems that at least for now that means walking away. Absolutely devastating tbh. A whole life of trying to teach love but never learning to love myself.
