2025-10-18 15:28:13 +0000 UTCYeah, Florence is always talking about how prophetic her songs are! She calls it “useless magic,” and even has a book with the same title. It’s “useless” because she only realizes what the lyrics were really about months or even years later — like what happened with King: “my killer would be coming from within. I’m no mother.” (As I told you before, she had a miscarriage, and then when she tried to get pregnant again, she almost died.) I love the transition between Heaven Is Here and Daffodil, because one ends with her hanging herself and the other starts with a breath of fresh air! Curiously, the guy from What Kind of Man got another song 😅 — “sometimes you get the girl, sometimes you get a song.” The last official song is Morning Elvis: “if I make it to the stage, I’ll show you what it means to be spared.” Well… she does make it to the stage, connecting to everybody scream: “but how can I leave you when you’re screaming my name?” I’m so excited for you to see her live performances, interviews, bonus tracks, and all. She’s a force of nature! It’s so fascinating how soft-spoken, shy, and introverted she is — full of social anxiety — and then she starts singing and just becomes her full self. Hope you get to see some of them before the new album comes out! Where can I recommend you music videos and live performances? Thank you for all the effort you’re putting into this — you’re amazing! 💖
