But one thing I thought I would add since it took me a while to catch it: in Pretty When You Cry, she sings “*I’m* pretty when *I* cry” but the song is called “Pretty When *You* Cry”. I’ve interpreted it as her partner telling her that she’s pretty when she’s crying, which in and of itself is super fucked up, but when she lists ways he’s unreliable and then says “*because* I’m pretty when I cry” it’s almost as if she’s saying he’s intentionally unreliable because he wants to see her upset. That’s my two cents anyway. It just adds another layer to the fucked up lasagna that is this wonderful album.
