I have no quarrel with vegetarians, vegans, or raw food afficionados. But I do have questions. Lots of (sadly) ignorant questions.
I worked in two restaurants that had salad bars. One was a local family-owned restaurant that did a healthy Sunday after-church brunch trade. The other was a Pizza Hut. Of the two, the salad bar with the most fresh produce and non-processed food items was—by far—the Pizza Hut. The local joint was where I gained knowledge of the Eldritch horror of the dreaded “Tube-Egg.”
In addition to being easy to slice and store, they freeze solid and keep that way forever without getting freezer burn, thanks to their tight plastic wrapper and thin coating of “egg-water.”
Also, when they’re frozen, you can hit them together like drumsticks and they make a satisfying TOK TOK TOK sound.
