Skeletons. You know the drill
Wrapped the midsection in yarn waste
And now for my new method of making torsos. I start with a regular block of fleece, then pinch it around the waist, and cut slots to that pinch point, then sew it to the body
I stuff yarn waste in to the top to give mass to the chest, and use a felting needle to get it all in.
I pinch the excess around the back again, and trim it off. You can see I cut off a wedge here
I keep stitching up from the waist. I get up to the neck, and cut off the excess again. At this point I can add more stuffing if I feel the need, then fully stitch up the shoulders. That's the upper half done
The butt is similar but a little more tricky. Stuff a bit up front, and do a quick trim of some corners before starting to stitch down the back. I stitch a bit before adding stuffing so the stuffing has a pocket to sit in. As I go, I'm pulling the back to meet with the front around the crotch to gauge how big the butt is.
I stitch the crotch together, trim around the leg pegs, and stitch it all up!
Here's the finished form! I can get a more consistent form this way.
Quick dry fit
And to top it all off, arms and legs are just fleece wrapped around to my desired thickness. Simple as.
Clothes coming soon!
