Bat ears and hair

I take those foam forms from last time and glue them down to some fleece, I cut them close but leave a tiny bit of room, where I hand stitch the pieces together for a smooth edge

I drive sequin pins like nails through the ears and into the head piece- after it was fixed in place, I realized I didn't need the two edge tabs, and cut them off. The middle tab however pulls the ear back to make the round shape.

I repeat on the other dolls, and run some hot glue behind the ears as some extra security

Using eyeshadow, I shade the ears a bit. For these two I used the same fabric, but orange and hot pink shading sets a different tone

The hair is going typically- I make my wefts, attach, and cut at the end. Lots of point cutting!

I decided on red for the pink bat. I braided her hair in the back, and trimmed the bangs up front. Due to the fabric ears, I was able to "pin" the bangs to the side by sewing loops around the hair to the ears. Unintentional but great!

For the brown bat, I'm going with wavy hair, so I'm not brushing out this yarn. I pull this chunky yarn apart, pinch the end in a flat iron, and make my wefts that way.

I place as usual, cutting it into a bob. For the bangs I didn't want it to be TOO thick up front, so the middle part was glued down to more of the scalp.

That's the hair! I get to move on to finishing boots and making bodies!! I'll be heading to a fabric store this weekend to get some Valentine's fabric for these ladies
