Discord Question

Good Morning Everyone!

For a little while now, I have questioned whether or not to have my own Discord.

It's sort of a trend for writers. A lot of the writers I am friends with have a discord to post updates, answer questions, and chat with their fans.

The reason I have held off on it for so long is because many of the writer discords I have seen are sadly, completely dead. As in, nobody ever posts in them. I was concerned that that might be inevitable if I opened a discord of my own. Taking the trouble to open a discord and the trouble to moderate it if no one ever used it sounded like a bit of a pain.

The extremely lively comments sections on the latest updates have me reconsidering that stance. Maybe it would be easier for people to discuss my story updates and where they want things to go in discord.

So, being honest here, if I had a discord, would you use it?

I really relate to this — I’ve experimented with Discord too, despite a very engaged community on Instagram and daily updates on Patreon. What I learned: It’s tough to move people across platforms. Moderation takes time and energy. Discord creates an expectation of immediacy — not always sustainable. It can divide your audience: some active in Discord, others left out. Meanwhile, Patreon’s tools are evolving fast. Your work clearly resonates — and while I’m wary of staying too still, I’ve learned that evolving how we connect should be done with care, not pressure. Happy to chat more about it anytime 💬✨

Hello! I think the issue is that newer releases of "The Bet" are available to the 5 dollar tier.

I paid for a membership but I am unable to read anything but the first couple of parts of "The Bet". I says I have to be a paid member which I am.
