Cumbunny Behind the Scenes

Morning everyone!

As I have mentioned a couple of times, Cumbunny was originally intended to be a stand alone short story, with a hook for a possible later sequel.

So how did I plan to fit all of that plot in a mid-length story? I thought the answer was interesting in a peek-behind-the-curtain way, so today I’m going to share my original outline for the story and walk you through how it changed so drastically.

So, as you may immediately notice, the first two parts of the story are more or less intact, parts three and four don’t exist at all in the original outline, and part five is just two scenes tacked onto the end.

So why did the story change from this original plan? Well, the first answer is the simplest: I don’t think that the story written out as I originally planned would be as good. People like a nice gradual, slow-boil corruption, and the original pilot would have had a massive time skip from the first blowjob to enthusiastic sex. I just don’t think that that would have been the right creative choice, and I’m glad I changed it. Inserting part three also allowed me to explore the world a little bit and introduce some interesting side characters.

But the second reason I changed the story was due to audience response and my own enthusiasm. I had a LOT of fun writing the first two parts, and my readers were big fans as well. If I feel like I have a lot of creative ideas for a project, and people want to read more, why would I leave that on the table?

You’ll also notice that in the outline, I originally planned to come down hard on the side of David being corrupted as well. Currently, I’ve left that open in the plot as it is written now. It seems like that has become controversial in the feedback I’ve gotten.Some people really want it to happen, and others think it would ruin the story for them.

With the understanding that your vote might not directly influence the direction of the story...
