Random Cross Contamination Ideas

Good Morning!

As part of my process in writing cross contamination, when I think of a hot idea, I make a note of it and try to work it in later. This has resulted in a long list of potential ideas that I'm not certain will end up in the story or not.

I thought it would be fun to share some of these ideas and see which you guys are most excited to see. I'm leaving out any idea that I know for certain will end up in the story, but these are still potential spoilers if that matters to you. Also: all of the ideas presented here would be worked up towards, so even if it doesn't feel right for the characters now, keep in mind that it might later in the story.

I had a lot of fun last week reading some cross contamination ideas that people offered! I thought this would also be a great place for people to offer Cross Contamination ideas that have popped into their heads. Comment below!

Which of the following ideas sound interesting to you? You can pick more than one.

Hmm, I guess I wouldn't put it that way. But sometimes the characters do shift and change a little as I write and feel out the character. For example: I have tended to write Cassie as sweet and agreeable, but as I wrote, it started making sense to me that she has some hidden stubbornness and toughness underneath. She is Gina's daughter, after all. The more I wrote and thought about it, the more it felt natural to the character that maybe she has some hidden reserves of defiance underneath the sweetness. We haven't seen the full results of this yet, but it will become more apparent in part 11. This is less noticeable in one part stories, but it's pretty common for me to 'uncover' something about the characters I write and write it in from the beginning during editing.

Do your characters ever get away from you? Start doing things you didn't mean for them to do?

You know your characters a whole lot better then I will ever know. I see Victor much as you have described him. I see Victor who uses corruption as a means to an end, the seduction of women. I don't see that with Renee. Cassies corruption just seems pointless. Not a means to an end. Maybe chalk to up to youthful exuberance. It is the first time she is off the leash, so to speak, and she wants to prove that she is just as good as her daddy. Cassie's corruption is her first and she is damned well going to make it perfect. Thinking about it this way, the gleeful way she is dragging Cassie down makes sense.
