Added 2015-11-23 09:56:47 +0000 UTCHere's Iteration 3 for the Flash FS alpha! This version adds progression, which entails experience, levelling, and feats.
This particular update is a little sparse, primarily because the majority of its development time was spent on long-term planning for the build.
You'll notice, right off the bat, that xp gains, damage, hit, and health all operate on entirely different math now. The main goal with these changes is to make the first baby steps toward our complete combat overhaul, slated much later in development. Keep in mind that these changes don't paint a complete picture of what is to come, since we have a lot more in store for combat. Additionally, the monsters are a little less tightly tuned during this time, and may be a bit more difficult to fight.
Feats are gained by selecting a link in the bunker, or sleeping (for minor feats). Feats themselves are seeing considerable changes, but for now the selection is a little sparse -- since there's no point in adding a lot of feats that don't do anything or allude to mechanics not yet fully fleshed out. Most of the available feats available do do something, at the very least.
Beyond that, an additional pass has been done on character creation, containing various tweaks and bugfixes. It should now have plenty of contingencies in place to prevent erroneous or exploitative behavior. Finally, the feats which dictated locking multiples/singles of certain anatomy fixtures have been folded into anatomy rules.
From here, the focus shifts to "World 2.0", which adds local scavenging/exploration, hunting, and navigating, among other things.
