PPF has been in the pipeline in some way shape or form since around 2020. Originally it started as a much simpler concept of being a series that takes place entirely in an after-school karate club in a dojo. It would've been a much simpler animation style, akin to Inferno Cop's.

I was never satisfied with any scripts I wrote for it though. At the same time, I was also drawing up ideas for a "simple" game that would've been similar/a spiritual successor to an old whack-a-mole/beat em up hybrid arcade game called The First Funky Fighter. With the original series idea not going anywhere, I repurposed the characters for the game, and that's how Punch Punch Forever essentially existed as from late 2020 up until around this time last year, as a game concept. There's a video "draft" of what would've been the game version of PPF in the above folder.

I waited until I had all other obligations done with last year like music videos as such, and around late July/early August, it was time to start working on the game!
But wait a minute - games are hard to make!!! Like really hard if you don't know anybody!!! The classic "I'm gonna' make my own videogame! 😀" trap - don't do it kids!!! ai yai yai.... dios mio...

Then followed about 3 days of wallowing in my own filth. Now, while making or being involved in a game in the future is something I won't entirely write off, at this moment in time, I just wasn't feeling good about the prospect anymore. The project was so perpetually on the backburner aside from me occasionally doodling ideas for it here and there, that when it came time to actually focusing on the reality of bringing the project to life, it very quickly crumbled lol.
And after that 3 days of wallowing, the idea of turning it back into a series, but with the setting, characters and lore changes I had made during its time as a "game", became a more appealing solution.

Making a game would've been largely stepping outside my comfort zone and a new challenge - that being said, I don't see turning it back into an animation as a "failure" or anything. I quickly became excited at this new take on the series idea, and here we are 10-ish months later HEH.

At the same time, I'm not overly satisfied with this video, but thats largely just because it's the necessary evil of the first episode. It's like I already wanted to jump into Episode 2, but ya gotta spend SOME time at least setting up the basic plot.
Irregardless of how well or terribly this vid does, I at the very least want to make 2 more episodes. We'll see where it goes from there! Into the dumpster? Who knows!!
