Speech Recognition in VR

I didn't run into any problems, so I don't think I can help you troubleshoot, but I can tell you what my setup is exactly: - I set the Headset Microphone (Oculus Cirtual Audio Device) as default - I use Airlink to connect to my PC (it's in the beta features, in case you don't know: it's connection via wifi) - I use the regular launcher to start the game - it actually "just works" - I found that the German command words have a better confidence level of recognition (for me, bc I'm German, but I don't think my accent is that bad >_>)

Never got this to work with my Quest 2 (through virtual desktop + steamvr). Tried several times... Any tips?

Thanks Case :) I still did not come to check the method with not runnning steam in admin mode. I want to try this first, cause it would be very simple solution. Also I don't really plan to play with voice commands, since I have thin walls xD It would be just for testing if this works and out of curiosity how immersive it is in VR ;D Very glad to hear that it works in general in VR! MacGruber's speech recognition plugin reliably works for me in VR (VeeRifter's doesn't always, for some reason) - and if you suspect your problem is something to do with SteamVR, I might be able to help: You don't need SteamVR (or the Occulus 'ware) to run VaM and there's a way to circumvent all other intermediate software layers using VirtualDesktop and a .bat script to start VaM. Lool thats what I was thinking too hahaha, I have got thin walls myself, but with this plugin you actually don't have to shout. Also I could add some less graphic "codewords" for the commands, so it would sound like you are working or something xD

I was laughing at a tutorial where the user is saying "blowjob" and he has an accent (as I do) and the ai is hearing "delete scene" lol I'm on the fence with it but I think it work really well with TGC virtual sweetheart. But hearing my voice is like the least sexy thing. I want the LOOK to tell me what to do haha "Chris...fudge me in the coke hole...but first I want a larger virtual apartment with that vam hot tub they have over at c&amp;g's place!". We're so keen to make our looks interactive...I wonder what we'll do when they talk back :-O

🤣 I think the voice commands are interesting, but I agree: they should be a little more subtle than what you described. Even if I can shout "Blowjob!" in the middle of the night it's kind of emersion breaking, isn't it?

It sucks! Reign mocap has it and its a bit messy but def a future thing maybe. But as I explained to him... who the f%ck wants to be shouting at Siri's cousin or Cortana-lite at 2 am when they you just want to jack off while the kids sleep and the wife is knocked out on diazepam haha Or worse if youre at home the last thing your parents need to hear while they entertain the local vicar ..is their son shouting "BJ!, ANAL!, Bend Over! CUM!" LOL or if at UNI in your dorm and your flat mates are watching Fast and the furious 27 they dont want to hear you screaming "PISS ON ME!" haha F&ck voice commands :P
