Welcome back to ArTorr Monthly! Here's the scoop on what I worked on last month and what you should look out for in the month(s) ahead!
I'm excited to confirm the script for the Andor video is DONE. As expected, it's a long script-- only a couple pages shorter than The Mandalorian video I did in 2022. I recorded my voiceover this past Thursday, and am officially (and finally) bringing the project into the editing stage.
After I finish cutting my VO, the next step will be the audio pass, where I'll organize that VO with music, interstitial clips, and some sound cues. This will probably take a few weeks, and so my goal for August is to get through that and at least get started on the video pass. If I do this, the video could be out by the end of September. But that might be too optimistic of a deadline. In reality, the video could be out in October.

I know this video has taken a long time to get made-- especially in spite of my mission statement at the end of last year to make shorter videos. But this video was always going to be an exception to that. It's a special project and it's really important to me that this is the exact video I want it to be. I'll be much more willing to make concessions on other future projects in order to put videos out sooner-- but not this one. As always, I appreciate your patience, and hope you can continue waiting a bit longer. I'll have a preview out for Tier 3 patrons by the end of this month if everything goes as planned!
As Andor moves into the editing stage, the Ghost of Tsushima video moves into the writing stage. I'm still polishing the outline and doing research, and to be clear about exactly where I'm at, I've only written a few paragraphs, and don't plan to race through writing this. The goal is to have this done and ready for voiceover by the time the Andor video is done-- so, two months from now. That being said, it's also going to be a much shorter script than the Andor script, based on my outline and thoughts about the game. I'm aiming for a comparable length to the Rogue One video, between 45 mins to 1 hour. That will pretty much align with how much I want to say about this game.

To face the music on my persistently bad timing with releasing videos: I originally wanted to get this out ahead of Ghost of Yotei. There's just no way that's happening now if the Andor video arrives late September and Ghost of Yotei hits early October. Not the worst scenario for me in the world-- and in the end I do make videos for you guys before I make them for the algorithm-- but I still just wanted to acknowledge that; that this video will feel like a late arrival in many respects.
I think my approach to this game and message of the analysis will make up for that however. In the same way that certain conversations-- such as the value of honor against a violently-uncompromising force or foe-- are evergreen and important conversations to have even today, this video will table some of those conversations. Plus, samurai never go out of style, and the way my video will attach a study of samurai culture via jidaigeki cinema (similar to my Mandalorian video) makes it about more than just a video game that came out in 2020. My excitement has really grown overtime for this project. I really can't wait to tell you more as it comes along!
That concludes ArTorr Monthly for August 2025. It's good to be up in Adobe Premiere actually editing something again (you will absolutely NOT catch me saying that in a month), and maintaining my writing momentum into the Ghost project. August is going to be another month of hitting the grindstone, but that's just what it will have to be until this boulder that is the Andor video is finally pushed over the hill. As always, I'm so appreciative of your support. You will every single dollar you've donated to ArTorr pay off when these videos drop. Until then, may you have a spectacular end to your summer this August, and a smooth beginning to whatever comes next. Peace out!
