Hey Clay! Good to see you. Yeah, Bull is pretty likeable. I am pretty sure I recognize the actor from his minor roles in The Negotiator and Grosse Pointe Blank, as I reacted to both earlier this year.

The high-risk Market Garden operation seemed like a low point in the Allies invasion strategy and intelligence gathering. Apparently had enticing potential did not realize. "They won't be waving so many orange flags at us tomorrow." "I don't like retreating."

Many WW2 veterans have said that this show is the most realistic dipiction of the war and they cant watch it because it feels to real.. i have served, but i did not have to serve during a giant meat grinder war like this.. luckily. And i feel it when i watch this show.. part of the reason i like it.. Sadly PTSD was not really recogniced in episode 2 you saw Lt. Spiers kill those soldiers, or Malarkey heard it.. Spiers have admitted that he killed surrendered Germans during the war on D day.. and he also confessed to shooting his own soldier when he was drunk on patrol.. but that was in self defence and he was cleared from all wrongdoing.. because the soldier drew his pistol at LT. Spiers. And the paratroopers was told from high command that they was not supposed to take prisoners.. because they was dropped behind enemy lines and needed to be fast and mobile.. POW's would slow down their advance and cost resources. many men did what he did in the early days of the war. Winters is such a good leader, just think what would happen if Sobel (Ross) still was leading Easy.. lol Ep 3 is great.. the visuals and sound is fantastic, it really puts you in the action.. and its incredible that Easy managed to hold the line.. even when Dog and Fox company retreated. Easy actually held the line against tanks alone for a short while... its amazing. but the other companies was sent back after some time. The part when Blithe was told to be dead at the end of the episode is one of the few errors in she show.. but all men in Easy belived he was dead. Marked Garden in episode 4 was a really high risk operation in Holland, and it was a huge mistake...A much bigger mistake then is shown in this episode, IMHO it prolonged the war, it was a huge shitshow, and the british really got their asses handed to them. I love how the men are ready to go behind enemy lines to get Bull back... even if they dont know if he is alive still. and they are still replacements. Dont worry about knowing all the names and faces at the start, it will come in time.. i understand that it can be hard since they often use the first name and some times their last name... and even often just their rank.. and if you dont know military ranks it can be rough.. but you will learn the names and faces with time. I could write facts and context about the episodes for ages.. but i dont want to make this post to long... but this show really shows some aspects of war that is not usually shown.. you will see that later. looking forward to more reaction Sorry for my bad english, its not my native language Take care Ronny

2025-11-08 17:19:15 +0000 UTCI definitely think that you watching then editing/ watching the episodes again is really going to help you with remembering names/faces. The first watch is always quite difficult, this is such a big cast. I watch Band of Brothers at least once a year and almost every rewatch I notice a character in the background that I hadn't realised was in the scene before.
