Progress Update on My First “Short Film”
Added 2025-03-18 18:25:51 +0000 UTCHad some extra time today to continue working on my first “short film”! Spent it refining the planet below, rendering it as an HDRI. Still not fully happy with the clouds, but getting there.
Next up: making the cannons shoot! I’ve already figured out most of my workflow—now it’s just a matter of implementing it.
For those who haven’t seen my Patreon video: I’ve wanted to create longer animations and even a short film for years—pretty much since I started using Blender 11 years ago. But for whatever reason, I never actually took the time to do it.
A few weeks back, I finally decided to just go for it and see how far I can get. I chose a Star Wars setting since I have quite a bit of experience in that world—having modeled spaceships and rendered planets before. That said, this isn’t meant to be a full short film, but rather a longer animation.
