ETA: Not that this boy doesn't deserve all the attention, support, and recovery in the world, but clinical psychology tells us that there are a LOT of warning signs to watch for as he develops, in case things go awry...

2025-03-11 06:42:53 +0000 UTCI didn't realize you had an Editor KL clip in here because Peekaboo is the one reaction episode I consistently skip lol. When it comes to mercy for the kid, I'm often reminded of Firefly and Mal's talk of the guy they rescued from the derelict ship that was attacked by Reavers -- that calling him a "survivor" isn't entirely accurate. I imagine this kid grows up to be just like that other guy from this show (Mr. "sorry for your loss"), because he grew up in hell while having only superficial exposure to politeness via the television, not knowing how to reconcile the two spheres of life. He sees what professionalism looks like and knows to emulate it to blend in with the outside world, but the meanings of the words just don't click for him. I see that character as another manifestation of Walt's crimes in the underworld, in a boy foretold to be a monster.
