Q&A: September 2020, Update about polls
Added 2020-09-18 00:36:56 +0000 UTCFinished that Q&A I promised. It turned out really well I think! It has a bit of a podcast feel to it, which people have been requesting for quite a while. Just over 40 minutes, and I suspect that would be about the length of future episode as well. Please let me know what you think of it. Most likely this would be a monthly thing, and only patrons would have access to them.
I mentioned this in the video near the end, but I wanted to include it here as well. As you know, we didn't have a poll this month. Lately you've probably noticed my production has slowed down. This is due to some life circumstances, second guessing, and just putting more time into each individual video in general.
Because of this I was thinking of removing the polls as a reward for Patreon and replacing them with these Q&As. Before when I was able to get 4-5 videos out a month, the polls would count for 20-25% of my time, but now since I'm on a pace of 1-2 videos per month, it's more around 50-75%. Every video I put on the poll I want to make, and I haven't put out a single video I didn't think was worth it, but at this point it's starting to feel like I have less control over what I put out on the channel. So most likely polls will be gone, and these q&as will replace them.
Sorry if this disappoints anyone, but I think for the health of the channel it just has to be done. In the future if my production picks up I can bring them back, or maybe I can just randomly post them every now and then if I'm indecisive and you guys can help push me in the right direction.
Again, let me know what you think - surely this will be something I improve on as I do more, so I think it can only go up from here.

Hah should have quit while I was ahead - will remember for next time though. There's an addon to count up the playtime of all of your alts and stuff, but tbh I'm a little afraid to see that number...lol

2020-09-21 08:25:13 +0000 UTCHey Mad, finally had the free time to watch the Q&A this morning. Really enjoyed the format of the Q&A and how casual it was. Really did remind me of watching you stream. I really like the idea of continuing this format. Monthly I think would be great since its sounds like you intend to use it to replace the monthly poll. That said, keep the poll but move it to quarterly starting in 2021, that way your fans can still help you pick videos, but its only 4 a year instead of 12. Really lets you keep your creative control and it gives your supporters some input into the channel.

If I do set it up it would have to mimic Patreon in rewards/tiers/etc so they're both even. I guess Youtube would be more convenient since it's all tied to the actual site instead of a 3rd party thing. I'll think about it!

Your opinion matters in the world of warcraft and there is only so much of it you're able to put in your YT videos. So yes, having you answer questions is a big thumbs up.

2020-09-18 06:44:01 +0000 UTCThe reason I decided to become a Patron was because I wanted to support one of my favorite content creators and the content that I became a Patron for was the content that you wanted to make. Polls are just a neat bonus, but at the end of the day, I want to see you making the content that makes you happy and that you're passionate about. The best music, movies, video games, whatever, come from inspiration and I don't want that forced. That's not to say the videos that you've been putting out from the poll are any less great than the videos you'd do before the poll, but the more natural it is for you, the better. I'm excited to listen to the Q&A, I'm sure it'll be a great listen. No matter what, just do what makes you happy because I guarantee that it will still make everyone else happy too. This is your dream, man; live it.

It gives you more time to deal with what’s going on IRL, gives you more freedom to choose the creative path you want to take as far as video topics, and we still get some input as patrons.
