The large-scale structure

The large-scale structure of the Universe includes galaxies that form clusters, and clusters form superclusters. These structures form giant threads of the web of galaxies and gas .
Until recently, we thought that galaxy clusters were the largest "structures" in the Universe. But if, as in the figure below, we imagine that each galaxy corresponds to one point, then we will see the “web”.

There are practically no galaxies inside the holes of this web. All of them are located on the threads of the web. Voids (emptiness) are the largest structural formations in the Universe.

On a scale of >300 million light years(for example the size of a Galaxy ~1000 light years), the Universe is homogeneous and isotropic, which means that when looking at a piece of a web of this size from one place and from another, the amount of matter in these two pieces will be ± the same.

That is, the large-scale structure of the universe is a beautiful, almost symmetrical giant web:)

Ask questions, the topic is complex,
I will be glad to answer😌
